On September 4, 1999, the Collège Boréal invites the delegates of La Francophonie not participating in the working sessions of the VIIIe Sommet de la Francophonie to take part in the Virtual Forum to share and discuss important subjects with francophones from all over Canada through videoconferencing and the Internet. The Virtual Forum consists of two pancanadian videoconferences on education and health, and on politics and economy. These activities will link the delegates of La Francophonie to several Canadian provinces.
Each conference will last three hours. During the first hour, a program will be broadcast to underline the existence and vitality of Francophone communities in Canada. The following two hours will be dedicated to exchanges between the participants on the education and health and on politics and economy.
People not able to go to one of the videoconference sites located in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Ottawa, Montréal and Moncton are invited to follow the conferences on the Internet. The Collège Boréal which organises this event, is a high technology institution with a community vocation.
