On August 27 and 28, 1999, the town of Shediac will host Franco-Mer, an event designed to showcase the cultural diversity of French-speaking countries in a charming seaside location. The event, which is being held in conjunction with the Moncton Summit, will give the public an opportunity to savour the culinary delights of Acadia and the entire French-speaking world by tasting seafood dishes from the member countries of La Francophonie. The lineup for Franco-Mer also includes performances by local artists and artists from a number of French-speaking countries.
