Planting of 52 trees in Emmerson Park Date:June 18, 1999 Location :Moncton, New Brunswick Status :Completed
On June 18, 1999, the Canada Lands Company has planted 52 trees at the entrance to Emmerson Business and Technology Park in Moncton, assisted by kindergarten to Grade 8 students from schools in Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview. The trees represent the 52 member States and Governments of La Francophonie taking part in the Moncton Summit. Each school had been matched with a tree representing one of the countries that make up La Francophonie.
The Canada Lands Company also gave each school a second tree representing the country it was matched with. This tree has been planted on school grounds.The Canada Lands Company also held a giant party at Emmerson Park to celebrate the event.
