The theme of this ninth symposium of the Association des professeurs des littératures acadienne et québécoise de l'Atlantique (APLAQA - Association of Acadian and Quebec Literature Teachers in the Atlantic) will be "Literary creation in the context of tininess". This theme illustrates the situation of many francophone literatures in countries or regions where French is not the principal language. The APLAQA symposium will examine writing practices in a variety of francophone literatures. A large number of lecturers and writers from countries belonging to La Francophonie will be invited to speak on the subject. An international poetry evening will round out this event, which is open to everyone.
