About the Summit's organization

Organization Secretariat

The mandate of the Organization Secretariat is to prepare, organize and conduct the XIIe Sommet de la Francophonie. This mandate includes:

The Secretariat also provides technical services and support to representatives of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie and provides financial support for any Summit-related special events and projects.

A Steering Committee ensures that Summit preparations unfold smoothly in partnership with the Organization Secretariat. The committee consists of two representatives of the Canadian government, two representatives of the Québec government, and one representative of the New Brunswick government. The Director General of the Secretariat is also a member of the Steering Committee.

Organizational Chart

The Secretariat's organizational chart reflects the commitment of the host governments. The Director General was appointed by the governments, and the management team that supports the Director General was appointed jointly by the governments of Canada and Québec.

Representatives of other federal departments and organizations also assist in carrying out the Secretariat's mandate.
